Let us dive into the mind of Pittsburgh's own, Zach Hoffman, where his start began on the platform Twitch on February 2017. He has been consistently pumping out phenomenal content ever since. He is a 21 year old streamer, YouTuber, and content creator. While pursuing his dreams, he does his studies at Slippery Rock University, where he is working on a degree in Marketing and Business Management. Without exaggeration, Hoffman is tireless.
The Beginning
Hoffman at only nine years old passed time with gaming. Coming home from a long day of school, Hoffman would turn on the game. For him, this was something he often looked forward to. He felt as though gaming was therapeutic and a significant way to relieve stress. During this time he was introduced to some of the industry's pioneers of content creation. Hoffman states "I remember watching Faze Clan’s videos on Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for days on YouTube and my eyes would be literally glued to my phone." Watching gamers is in-fact what sparked a passion for gaming for Hoffman. As his passion began he decided that he would later want to give streaming a shot. The mixture of popular You-Tubers and the recreation of video games is what made Hoffman the man he is today.
Finding his niche in the Streaming Industry
Hoffman was inspired by many gaming groups such as Faze Clan and Optic Gaming. He has been growing his platform to become a top line variety streamer. His primary choosing of games is a first person shooter visual such as, Call of Duty, Rainbow Six Siege, and games similar to Battlefield. These games are not the limit to his range of streaming, while he also streams such games as Little Big Planet 2, Rocket League, Mortal Combat, NBA 2k, Rogue Company, and Fortnite. Hoffman states "I like to keep a hybrid vibe on my channel because I feel as though the same routine can get a bit boring. I like to mix things up! I want to make my content enjoyable for all types of audiences."
Some of my all-time life goals consist of:
-To make a stable income off of gaming.
-Being able to create the type of content to help all age groups rise out of mental illnesses such as depression,
anxiety, and so much more. (YOU ARE NOT ALONE.)
-I hope one day I can become an influencer on social media.
-To make it into an organization such as Faze, Optic, Soar, or Obey.
-I hope to provide financial support to pay off all my family’s debts one day.
-I want to inspire those who lack confidence to follow their dreams and passions in anything.
-Most importantly, I want to raise awareness for charities and problems going on around the world that deserve attention.
The advice I would give to anyone that would want to start up in streaming, video creating, and etc.
"I would say do not listen to anyone else but yourself. NOBODY can tell you what YOU should do with YOUR LIFE AND HOW YOU SHOULD LIVE IT. For all we know, we only live once, so why live the rest of your life with regret knowing you could have done something that you could love with all your heart. Regardless if it is family, friends, or anybody, at the end of the day you should do what YOU want to do. You have to find a way to stand out from everybody else in the world. It is 2020 and the majority of people today are trying to become influencers, streamers, and/or YouTubers on social media. At the end of the day you have to ask yourself. How do I stand out from the rest? How does my content differ from all the other people trying to do the same thing I am trying to do? How does my content affect others? If you can find solutions to these questions, then you have your answer into whether or not streaming is for you. BE YOURSELF." -Hoffy
